What emotions or ideas spring to mind when you look at this image? Why does/doesn't it appeal to you? How could you use this picture to to help make an argument/point about your blog topic?
Why does this make a strong option for an abstract picture?

This visual is more compelling because it has good quality, colors, and invites multiple interpretations. It's actually a dog's chew toy, but I didn't know that when I first saw it. I could see using this, as one example, to talk about how the web connects us to so many differing views and perspectives, and if done correctly, they can intertwine to create a better understanding and beautiful diverse community.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an entangling of thoughts or concepts. It could be used to talk about the concept of human thought, or perhaps the chaos of the different colors being lumped together like woven-up worms is indicative of an article about life with mental illness, managing anxiety, or life as a neurodivergent person.
ReplyDeleteOn my blog, I wouldn't use this image in particular, but I might use something just as abstract from one of the Mario games to draw interest without showing the obvious or giving spoilers.
I like the idea of choosing something abstract from the Mario games, Joey, and appreciate your interesting connections of the image above to discussion of how the brain works.
ReplyDeleteThe first feeling that “sprung” to mind when looking at this image was a sense of nostalgia. This toy looks like something that I played with when I was in preschool or kindergarten. The colors are bright and tangled together, yet the toy is dirty and looks well played with. Another classmate commented that this could kind of represent the messiness of mental health, and I can definitely see that.
