What emotions or ideas spring to mind when you look at this image? Why does/doesn't it appeal to you? How could you use this picture to to help make an argument/point about your blog topic?

Why does this make a strong option for an abstract picture?

*After thinking about it, see some possible answers in the comments, or comment yourself.

  1. This visual invites multiple interpretations: are they protesting in anger or cheering in joy? Is that smoke from police breaking up a riot, or the lights of a rock concert? What race or gender are they--does it matter?

So for my writing for the web topic, I could use this to discuss the anonymity of the Internet that some people hide behind to make harmful, uninformed arguments, becoming a faceless mob that loses focus and cannot effect change.

Or, I could be more positive, and discuss how the Internet allows the freedom of not being judged on your outward appearance, giving people the ability to come together and fight for a common cause, and creating a strong voice for those who have often been overlooked.

  2. Looking at this image I feel the feeling of excitement. The blurry figures mixed with haze or fog give a timeless effect. What I like about this image is that it’s open for interpretation. You can project your emotions onto it, depending on your perspective. For my blog, I might use this picture to talk about how our perspectives on things change based on our current mood and headspace.
